It's in honor of my Great Uncle Jake that I use the nickname Jake. Uncle Jake was born Kajetan C. Jakoubek in Price County, Wisconsin. He served as a Game Warden and worked in the logging business during the early 1900s. He held United States patent 1,893,236 for an Animal Trap.

So the story goes, when I was born, he gifted me some real estate in return for my parents not naming me after him. I remember him only vaguely, but that's a photograph of Uncle Jake probably taken by my Grandfather Otto Jakoubek.

When I get around to it, I'll share here what I know of the genealogy of my branch of the Jakoubek Family.
